Top Gun Maverick sequel discussions?

Top Gun: Maverick actor Miles Teller has said he is “having conversations” with tom Cruise about a sequel to the record-breaking Action drama film.

Teller was replying to a query regarding the probability of a third Top Gun movie while speaking to Entertainment Tonight at a charity event. “That would be fantastic, but  Tom would have to decide. It all depends on Tom. He and I have been talking about it recently. We shall see.”

Top gun: Maverick has grossed over one billion dollars and still rising Top gun maverick is tom cruise’s most successful film yet. From a business standpoint, it would seem almost foolhardy not to make a sequel. However, the whole point of the film was to finish off maverick’s story and a sequel would completely negate the message.

This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not plausible as Miles teller also mentioned earlier this year in May he wants to make a “Top gun: Rooster” or a follow-up to roosters story but nothing is confirmed yet
